I agree, it is definitely the hardest part. It’s impossible to know every language, but when moving somewhere new with the idea of living there for a long(er) stretch of time, pushing passed the fear and trying to make that effort to use what we know has great benefits over time in our language learning. Also, I think we often “give up” easier when the other person responds in English or our first language, when in turn we should continue pushing. Trying to provide that positive spark for readers in a similar situation :)
